Lecture attendees can expect to walk away thinking more critically about political feelings and opinions whose origins they’d previously never thought about.

For people interested in the history of black women’s political organizing, as well as the political movements, strategies and organizations black women are working on and within today, this is the perfect fit. The Intersection of Race, Sex, and Class Based Discrimination in Medical Settings

For folks who are interested in learning more about the harm that can be perpetuated by medical providers within the medical industrial complex, this lecture will be illuminating. I pull from the latest research in both the medical literature, and the social science literature, to speak to the insidious discrimination that shows up time and time again in medical settings. Using my own experience, as well as the experiences of other women who’ve written about the harm perpetuated against them by doctors in various op-ed’s and memoirs, I provide a first person account that will leave you shocked, but motivated to push for change.
